From AI user to app builder

A real idea.
A working first version.

This is a hands-on day for English-speaking business owners, founders and leaders in Thailand who use AI for productivity and want to start creating their own tools.

Choose a focused idea: a quotation helper, a customer enquiry tracker, a simple dashboard, or a small service prototype. Learn the complete cycle: describe → scaffold → test → iterate → deploy.

You will work with tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, with guided setup and plenty of time to practise. Keep the scope small enough to build and test during the day.

What you work toward

Leave with more
than a slide deck.

01

A product brief

One user, one business problem, one useful feature.

02

A working app

An interface and a feature you can run, test and demonstrate.

03

A shareable URL

Publish your first version and get feedback from others.

04

A repeatable process

Prompts, practical judgement, and a way to keep improving.

We aim for a small, shareable prototype. A workshop app still needs appropriate testing, security and data handling before it supports real customers or business operations.

Friday 13 November / 09:00–17:00

Your day,
from idea to demo.

A practical sequence with coffee breaks, a lunch break, and a peer showcase. All times are local Bangkok time.

  1. Welcome & orientation

Understand the day, meet the tools, and see how you can guide AI without a coding background.

Outcome: A clear view of the building process.

  2. Find your one-feature app

Choose a business problem. Use AI to define the user, one useful feature, and what success should look like.

    Outcome: Your one-page product brief.

  3. Coffee break

  4. Prototype the experience

Map a simple user journey, generate a UI from your brief, and refine it for usability and your brand.

    Outcome: A working interface prototype.

  5. GitHub & your local workspace

Learn repositories, commits and cloning in plain English. Open your project and run it on your laptop with guidance.

    Outcome: Your prototype running locally.

  6. Lunch break

  7. Build & test one useful feature

Work with Claude Code or OpenAI Codex to add a form, a chart, or an API connection. Describe, build, test, debug and improve.

Outcome: One working feature you can demonstrate.

  8. Coffee break

  9. Iterate & troubleshoot

Ask AI to explain errors and suggest fixes. Practise solving common setup, dependency, environment-variable and port issues.

Outcome: A tested improvement and a repeatable debugging approach.

  10. Publish your first version

Learn what deployment means, configure the required settings, and publish using a suitable hosting tool. Check your app from its live URL.

Outcome: A shareable first version to test.

  11. Showcase & next steps

Give a 90-second demo, share feedback with peers, and decide what to improve next. Take away the prompts and building process.

Outcome: A demo, a clear next step, and the confidence to keep building.

Before you arrive

Bring your laptop.
Bring one useful idea.

No coding experience needed

Come ready to describe a problem, ask questions, and test what AI builds. The workshop is taught in English.

Start small

Choose one feature for one type of user. Use sample or redacted data during the workshop.

Prepare your tools

Bring a laptop and charger. Apex will confirm account access, setup instructions and any tool subscription requirements before the session.
